Creator of other games such as Galactic Civilizations and Sins of a Solar Empire. Released their first iOS game Dead Man’s Draw back in October and was originally on the AppStore for $1.99, but now it’s FREE. I originally came across Dead Man’s Draw on KickStarter where they where trying to reach their goal of $16,500 to create a physical version of the game. Unfortunately Stardock were unsuccessful in reaching their target goal. How ever they now offer a free Print ‘n’ Play version on their site, bonus! My review will be of the iOS version of the game, but I imagine the game to play exactly the same, minus the tournament part of the app. DeadMansDraw The look and feel of Dead Man’s Draw is great, the characters are exaggerated with all the piratey qualities you’d expect. dmd2 Dead Man’s Draw is a push your luck game, where each player takes turns to draw cards until they bust or choose to take the cards they have drawn so far and collect any ‘Booty’ that was gained during the turn. Simple enough right? Not exactly, as the game progresses you unlock certain card effects. For example, the Anchor card allows you to save all the cards before the Anchor meaning if you bust anything before the Anchor card is still collected. The Cannon card allows you to discard a card out of your opponents hand. The Tentacle card forces you to draw two cards, increasing the probability of you busting.

I really enjoy playing Dead Man’s Draw, it’s a quality made game, I have never had any issues with. It runs smoothly, plays well and is a polished game.

So if you’re into push your luck card games with a pirate theme then Dead Man’s Draw will definitely tick all the boxes. Even if you’re not its free to play and also fun to play.
