Top 5 Board Game related Apps

Hi everyone, we are now in 2016, and I hope you all had a fantastic December. Over the past year, we are seeing more apps for board games whether it be game integrated apps or companion apps. Here are my top 5 board game related apps in no particular order.

1. Board Game Stats By Eerko Vissering

Probably my most used app relating to board games. Board Game Stats is feature rich it allows you to log all your game plays, add scores, roles people that you have played the game with, the location in which the game was played, attach game pictures additional comments, game rounds and duration. All info is taken and put into charts and statistics which makes for interesting reading. Plays can be shared via social media and also instantly uploaded to your Board Game Geek account.

Board Game Stats is available on the Apple app store for £2.29, and it’s worth every penny.

2.Crossroads Companion App By Emerson Matsuuchi

crossroads app

If you are a fan of Dead of Winter, you can now enhance your gaming experience with the Crossroads Companion app. This app is not just a replacement for the crossroad cards but resolves the one bugbear I had with the game and that’s all the information is on the card that can influence the group’s decision. With the app it only shows you the outcome after you have chosen what path to follow, making the game tense and immersive.   The app will incorporate new crossroad cards when they become available so it’s a good investment if you will be purchasing/playing more crossroad based games.

You can get the app for iOS and Andriod for 79p.

Sushi Go! Score Calculator By RabidRogue LLC

I play a lot of Sushi Go it’s a quick game that can be enjoyed by all levels of gamer, so when I found this app it just made playing the game, or, more importantly, scoring the game a hell of a lot easier and quicker.

Sushi go! Score calculator can be found on the iOS app store for £1.49.

4. Boardgame Scorer By Forrest Wang

This nifty little app supports the scoring of:

  • 7 Wonders
  • Agricola
  • Le Havre
  • Lost Cities
  • Eclipse
  • Stone Age
  • Puerto Rico
  • Agricola: ACBaS
  • Ora et Labora

On top of all that there is a victory point tracker and the app supports the creating of new scorers. You can keep a score history, look at stats and share all this info through social media channels as well as being able to upload to Board Game Geek.

Board Game scorer is available from the iOS app store for £2.29.

5. Zombicide By CMON

Take the fiddliness out of Zombicide with the official companion app. This app helps you manage your characters their weapons, items, hit points, special abilities and adrenaline levels. It syncs with other players that are also using the app. It has an option to roll virtual dice or actual dice, accompanied with thematic sound effects.  The app supports current expansions to the game.

One of the main reasons I enjoy using this app is that it declutters your playing area giving you no distractions so that you can just focus on killing zombies.

Best of all this app is Free.
